Whether you’re staying for a weekend or all season, planning your trip to Wading Pines can be broken into three simple steps: choose how you want to stay, pick your dates and site type, and check a few key details like policies and directions.

Rates & Reservations

Rates at Wading Pines vary depending on the type of site or cabin you choose and the dates of your stay. Children 11 and under camp free, making us a popular choice for family camping in South Jersey’s Pine Barrens.  We recommend checking current rates and availability online, then calling if you have specific questions about site types, length of stay, or seasonal options.
  • RV sites – nightly rates, with some monthly and seasonal options
  • Rustic cabins – nightly rates
  • Tent sites – nightly rates
  • Seasonal RV sites – spring through fall seasonal rates (see Seasonal RV Sites page)

Children 11 and under camp free at RV and tent sites; some restrictions apply. See individual pages for details.

Seasonal RV Sites require direct office booking.

Camping Season & Availability

Wading Pines Camping Resort is a seasonal campground, typically open from early spring through late fall. For the 2026 season, we plan to open on April 1 and close November 1.

We recommend:
  • Booking early for holiday weekends and peak summer dates.
  • Considering spring and midweek stays for more availability and a quieter experience.

Directions to Wading Pines Camping Resort

Wading Pines Camping Resort is located in Chatsworth, New Jersey, along the Wading River in the heart of the New Jersey Pinelands. You just can’t get much further into the Pine Barrens unless you climb into a canoe and paddle downstream to one of the many secluded picnic spots along the riverbanks.

Driving Distances (Approximate)**

  • From Philadelphia, PA – about 1 hour
  • From Atlantic City, NJ – about 45 minutes
  • From Wildwood, NJ – around 1 hour 10 minutes
  • From New York City / North Jersey – about 2–2.5 hours

A personal vehicle is strongly recommended. Public transportation options are extremely limited in the Pine Barrens.

Key Rules & Campground Policies

To keep Wading Pines safe, peaceful, and enjoyable for everyone, we follow a clear set of campground rules and policies. We recommend reviewing them before your stay so you know what to expect and how to be a good neighbor under the pines.

  • Quiet hours: 11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. (no visitors after 11:00 p.m.). 
  • Speed limit: 5 mph throughout the park, including golf carts and e-bikes.
  • Each reservation includes 2 adults and 2 children (under age 11), max 6 people. (plus specific occupancy rules on RV & cabin pages).
  • Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after; off-leash pets (outside dog park) may result in eviction.
  • Generators and space heaters are prohibited.
  • No firearms or fireworks permitted in the campground.
  • No smoking in cabins or any buildings.
  • Children must be on their site by 10:00 p.m.

You may request a specific site or area, and we do our best to honor those preferences. However, site and cabin numbers are not always guaranteed; we reserve the right to move you to a similar site if necessary at no cost to you.

Each site allows one camping unit and no more than 2 cars. If the cars don’t fit, there is guest parking throughout the park.
